Mia O’Neill is a writer from Virginia. Her work appears or is forthcoming in New Ohio Review, Narrative Magazine, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of New Ohio Review’s 2026 Literary Prize in Fiction and was longlisted for the Ploughshares Emerging Writers’ Contest. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Fiction at Columbia University, where she teaches with Columbia Artist/Teachers and is at work on a short story collection and a novel. Prior to the MFA she worked as a book publicist at Scribner, and she now serves as an assistant editor at Narrative. She lives in New York City.
